A native of Endicott, NY, Danny moved south after college and began working in the shoe business, first as a manufacturer’s representative and then as the owner of a chain of shoe stores. The venture was so “unsuccessful” that he calls it “the most expensive MBA in history.” However, that experience sparked his resolve and determination to pursue other avenues of success. Long interested in investing, he entered the financial arena as an investment broker. A desire to learn coupled with long hours and hard work paid off, and within a few years, he became Partner and Sales Manager. Climbing the corporate ladder, Fontana earned the position of Senior Vice President/Investments and Branch Manager of IJL, Wachovia’s branch in uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. Today, as president of brokerage firm, Triune Capital Advisors, he advises clients ranging from financiers and corporations to ordinary lay people who all look to him for guidance to find investments that best fit their needs. Fontana’s wit, intelligence, and gregarious personality have endeared him to audiences throughout the country. From 1986 to 2002, he taught more than 30 college-level investment courses and delivered investment and economic commentaries on both radio and television, many of which were syndicated to NBC-TV affiliates. In 1993, he began hosting his own daily radio program. His guests have included the late Katherine Graham (Washington Post publisher); former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan; investment gurus Peter Lynch, Sir John Templeton, the late Louis Rukeyser, Neil Cavuto, Steve Forbes; and many politicians, including former President Jimmy Carter, Hillary Clinton, Barak Obama, and Senators John East and Jesse Helms. His programs are fun, entertaining, and engaging as he tackles everything from hot news topics to trends in business and economics, interspersed with call-in questions and his own unique comments. In the spring of 2007, Fontana acquired ownership in WDYT-1220 AM (“What Do You Think” radio), a station that broadcasts a news/talk format that serves the Charlotte metro area. Since 2004, “The Danny Fontana Show” also has appeared each weekday to a national television audience on the Inspirational Life Television network (i-Lifetv). Fontana is also an author. His first book, “Waking Up to Wall Street” was published in July of 1995. Then, in 2005, Revell Publishing released his second book, “A Christian’s Guide to Investing. Fontana is also an accomplished speaker. Pulling from his experience in the field as well as years of research, study and listening to others, he speaks spontaneously and in-depth on countless financial topics. Fontana is married with one son and two grandchildren and resides in Charlotte, NC.
